Altaline Capital Management has completed an investment in Risk & Regulatory Consulting.
RRC's existing leadership and services will remain in place, with LeeAnne Creevy and Tricia Matson continuing as co-CEOs. Altaline plans to provide capital to help RRC add credentialed actuaries and other specialists as insurance regulators contend with areas including climate exposure, cyber risk, private credit, artificial intelligence, excess and surplus lines, and fronting and captive structures. Founded in 1988, RRC provides actuarial, financial and IT examinations and analysis, market conduct examinations, insolvency and receivership support, market studies, investment analysis and related regulatory services. The firm employs nearly 160 professionals nationwide and serves insurance departments across 44 U.S. states and jurisdictions.
Citizens Capital Markets & Advisory advised Altaline financially; Oliver Wyman served as commercial strategy advisor; RubinBrown provided accounting and tax advice; BakerHostetler acted as transaction counsel; Calfee, Halter & Griswold served as financing counsel; Crosslake advised on IT; and Howden handled insurance and benefits diligence. Apogem Capital provided debt financing, while Align Collaborate provided equity financing.
