ISLAMABAD, Sep 20 (APP):Inspector General of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry chaired a late-night meeting to review the prevailing situation, security arrangements and law and order in the federal capital, with NCCIA Director General Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi and senior Islamabad Police officers attending.
An official told APP on Sunday that the meeting reviewed police preparedness to deal with any possible situation, with particular focus on security arrangements across the city and protection of important places and sensitive installations.
The officers were directed to remain prepared and ensure effective security measures to protect the lives and property of citizens.
The meeting also reviewed measures against online harassment, anti-state propaganda and illegal online activities. Officers were directed to take action in accordance with law against those involved in such activities and further strengthen cyber patrolling.
Directions were also issued to ensure continuous monitoring of criminal activities on social media platforms and the internet and take timely legal action where required.
The meeting further discussed measures to maintain the smooth flow of traffic in the federal capital and facilitate citizens in their daily movement.
IGP Sohail directed officers to ensure effective monitoring of security and traffic arrangements and take all necessary measures for the safety of citizens and their property.
