Paralysis of russia's oil and gas giants: General Staff confirms shutdown of LUKOIL and NOVATEK plants after Ukrainian strikes

Two major russian oil refining facilities halted operations following Ukrainian strikes. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this. Following an analysis of additional data, the General Staff confirmed that the LUKOIL-NizhegorodNefteOrgSintez oil refinery in Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod region, halted operations after being struck on August 26. The shutdown of the NOVATEK-Ust-Luga complex in Slobodka, Leningrad region, was also confirmed. Ukrainian forces struck the facility on September 1. At the facility, pipelines between the oil transfer pumping station and storage tanks were damaged, causing an oil product spill covering 200 square meters. The primary gas condensate processing unit and two hydrocracking columns were also struck. In addition, a pipeline in the tank farm was found burning, along with another oil product spill covering an area of 250 square meters. The General Staff noted that both facilities are involved in meeting the needs of the russian armed forces. Operations against key enemy facilities continue.
