Umrah pilgrims get 15-day extension for vaccination deadline

KARACHI: The deadline for Umrah pilgrims to travel without vaccination has been extended by another 15 days, officials said. Pilgrims can now travel without vaccination until October 10. Meanwhile, five NADRA facilitation centres have been established at the Karachi Airport dispensary. Vaccination will also begin at the Jacob Lines dispensary next week. However, thousands of passengers in Karachi are facing difficulties because only one vaccination centre currently operates for travellers. The Health Ministry has established the centre at the Federal Civil Dispensary near the Old Terminal. The facility has one room, creating long queues for elderly people, women and infants. Influenza and meningitis vaccines are mandatory for Umrah pilgrims, while travellers should visit centres 10 days before departure.
