ITV's daytime schedule was disrupted on Wednesday, November 4, after a power outage at the studio, which forced both This Morning and Lorraine off air.
Lorraine Kelly, 66, announced the news in an Instagram video filmed on her way to work.
She told fans: 'There's been a little bit of a hoo-ha. There's a power outage at the studio, so my show won't be on today.'
She explained that Good Morning Britain had still aired and that technicians hoped to resolve the issue by around 11:00 a.m., but confirmed her planned interview with Texas frontwoman Sharleen Spiteri would be rescheduled.
She added: 'It's a bit of a shame. These things happen. Can't be helped. See you tomorrow.'
Both This Morning and Loose Women were then canceled, and a repeat of the show took place in their stead, as well as a Tipping Point: Best Ever Finals in the 12.30 pm timeslot. Regular programming was anticipated to resume at 2 pm after ITV's Lunchtime News.
This failure occurred amid growing discussions regarding the power situation in the UK and fears that the shortage of gas that can power the plants may cause further blackouts.
Lorraine has been on ITV's schedule since 2010; however, last year its airing time was decreased from one hour to just half an hour for just 30 weeks a year due to budget cuts, an adjustment Kelly found heartbreaking until she admitted that it "really worked out well."
Kelly stated that she will be back on TV tomorrow at 9.30 am.
