Indian Army Signs MoU with Jaipur School, Offers 50% Fee Concession for Soldiers' Wards

The Indian Army has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Maharani Gayatri Devi Girls' School in Jaipur to expand educational support for the daughters and wards of serving and retired personnel, along with the families of soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice or died while in service. The agreement provides substantial fee concessions for eligible Army families seeking admission to the school, with benefits structured to ease the financial burden on different categories of beneficiaries. Under the MoU, two wards from specified eligible groups will receive a 50 per cent concession on tuition fees. The categories covered under this higher concession include war widows, personnel who died in harness and personnel declared as battle casualties. For these families, the support goes beyond tuition alone: the 50 per cent concession will also apply to the admission fee, boarding fee and caution money. In addition to the larger concession for bereaved and specially eligible families, the school will extend a 15 per cent tuition fee concession to five wards of serving Indian Army personnel. A further three wards of retired Army personnel will also be eligible for a 15 per cent concession on tuition fees. The arrangement is part of the Army's broader welfare focus, particularly its effort to help the children of service personnel access quality education. By linking up with an established school in Jaipur, the Army has added another institutional support mechanism for families connected to the force. The MoU is especially significant for families of personnel who lost their lives in service, as it creates specific financial relief for their children at a time when education-related costs can be a major concern. The concessions are designed to provide practical assistance to those categories while also offering support to serving and retired Army families.
