HYROX is changing hands. What's happening: HYROX co-founders Christian Toetzke and Moritz Fürste regained majority ownership of the global fitness racing series to steer the sport's future. Landing it. In motion all summer, a consortium led by private equity firm L Catterton acquired the majority stake Infront Sports & Media has held since 2022. Joined by Toetzke, Fürste, and WndrCo, Bloomberg reports the deal values HYROX near $700M. Juggernaut. Beginning with a single race in Hamburg, Germany, HYROX has become a global sports platform, with more than 1.4M participants and 100-plus events in the 2025/26 season — and ambitions to eventually reach the Olympics. Lending support to hybrid racing as a category, Toetzke and Fürste are also joining Jeffrey Katzenberg-led firm WndrCo as investors in XENOM, another emerging fitness competition platform — reinforcing a broader bet on the sport's cultural alignment with mass participation and live experiences. Looking ahead: Retaining its original vision while taking on growth specialists, HYROX's early hyperscale was just the beginning.
