Crescent launched a new Nite Eye extendable rafter square, model LSSP6NE.
The Crescent Nite Eye extendable rafter square has a fold-out extension, similar to other squares in the same product family.
The extension adds another 6″ to the marking edge, and folds away when you don't need it, or for more compact storage.

Curiously, Apex Tool Group gave this Crescent tool Nite Eye branding. From what I've seen, this was previously Lufkin branding for some of the inverted contrast tape measures.
I have grown to have mixed feelings for Crescent's extendable rafter square. But that's not for discussion today.
At this time, Amazon has the new Crescent square priced at $33.
Home Depot also has it for $33.
Acme Tools also has it for $33, although it's eligible for various Labor Day discounts.
You can buy the older-style square for $17.15 at Amazon and Home Depot. Acme has a different colorway for a couple of dollars more.

It looks to me like Crescent launched a new 'Nite Eye' high-vis design and nearly doubled the price.
Is green on black really going to be easier to read than white on black? Black on green vs white on orange?
$33 vs $17.15. Seems like a rip-off to me.
Or am I missing something that makes the new Crescent Nite Eye square worth nearly double the price of the older version?
