Girl Scouts unveil first dog treat and new allergy-friendly cookie for 2027

Girl Scouts has unveiled two first-of-their-kind treats joining the lineup for the 2027 cookie season — including one created just for dogs. Developed with the dog subscription box company Bark, the Girl Scouts of the United States will be offering Patch Pals as the first cookie created just for dogs. Inspired by Girls Scouts' 'deep love for their dogs,' the soft-baked, blueberry muffin-flavored dog cookies 'celebrate the bond between people and their pups,' with each dog cookie baked to feature one of four 'patch designs,' according to a recent press release from Girl Scouts. Meanwhile, the new Girl Scout Sparkables cookies 'bring a new level of inclusivity to the Girl Scout Cookie portfolio as its first-ever cookie developed for families navigating certain food allergies,' the Girl Scouts' press release states. Developed with the allergy-friendly snack food company Partake Foods 'in a facility designed to avoid the nine major food allergens,' Girl Scouts Sparkables feature a crunchy oatmeal cookie with chocolate chips and colorful sprinkles, according to the Girl Scouts' press release. Starting Jan. 17, Patch Pals and Girl Scouts Sparkables will be available exclusively online for direct shipping with the national launch of the 2027 cookie season. Girl Scout Cookie season is recognized nationally from January through April, though local dates vary by region, according to the Girl Scouts website.
