A Status Yellow weather warning for fog has been issued for Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan and all of Connacht. The warning will come into effect at 10pm on Monday and will end on Tuesday at 10am. Met Éireann warned commuters of difficult travelling conditions and poor visibility ahead of the alert. It comes as a week of dry and settled weather is set to kick off November, marking good news for the traditional beginning of winter. Conditions will start to feel seasonably cooler for the next few days, particularly at night-time when minimum temperatures will drop below freezing. Monday saw mainly dry, bright and sunny conditions, with highest temperatures of 10 to 13C, after overnight mist and fog cleared early in the day. It will stay dry into tonight and it will be cold, with mist and fog forming and turning widespread in Ulster, Connacht and north Leinster. Temperatures will fall to lows of -1 and 4C, bringing some frost. Some areas along the east and south coasts will get slightly higher temperatures, clouds and no fog. Those conditions will lead into a cold start on Tuesday morning but things will again clear up to bring another mostly dry day with plenty of sunshine, though there will be showers in eastern parts. Temperatures will reach highs of 9 to 12C, though it may be cooler in areas where fog is slower to clear. Tuesday night will again be dry though there will be a few light showers in the east and south, with a mix of clouds and clear spells. It will be another cold night with mist, fog and temperatures dropping to lows of 0 to 5C. You must enable social media cookies to see this content. Change settings Met Éireann's outlook for the coming days shows the best of the sunshine will be in the early part of this week, with more cloud in the latter part. Wednesday will be dry and bright but areas in the east and south will get more clouds and a few light showers. It will feel cool and breezy, with highest temperatures of 9 to 12C. The west of the country will get the best of the sunshine on Thursday, but it will be a cloudier day overall. It will stay dry for the most part aside from a few showers in the east. Highest temperatures will again range from 9 to 12C. Friday will be a similar day with largely dry weather, some cloud and scattered showers, and the west getting the best of the sunshine, with highs of 9 to 12C. The settled period is forecast to continue all the way into the weekend. There will be more spells of sunshine, just the odd shower and conditions will remain settled overal..
