Scan.com also secured $130 million in debt facilities from VerisFi Capital and Atempo Growth to support mergers and acquisitions and working capital. The Atlanta-based company said the financing follows a year in which it doubled revenue, surpassing a $165 million annualized run rate.Scan.com operates a technology-enabled network that connects patients and healthcare organizations with imaging providers. The company entered the U.S. market in 2023 and says its operations are now live nationwide. Globally, more than 900,000 patients have accessed imaging services through its network.'The US runs around 600 million medical imaging scans a year, and there is still no national infrastructure behind them,' said Charlie Bullock, co-founder and CEO of Scan.com. 'Labs got that decades ago with Quest Diagnostics and Labcorp. Imaging never did, and that is what we have built.'Scan.com said its platform allows health plans, employers, digital health companies, third-party administrators and workers' compensation organizations to connect to imaging capacity through a single application programming interface (API).The platform integrates with independent imaging centers' scheduling systems and electronic medical records, combining imaging search, scheduling and results delivery. According to the company, patients can see pricing before scheduling and typically receive results within 48 hours.Artificial intelligence is also being used throughout the platform. Scan.com said its technology matches referrals with imaging facilities based on factors including availability, price and subspecialty, while automating scheduling and paperwork. The company also uses AI to route reports to radiologists with appropriate subspecialty expertise.Scan.com said it will use the new capital to expand its U.S. imaging provider network and further develop its API and 'agentic AI' infrastructure for routing patients, scheduling exams and returning diagnostic results. The company sees an opportunity in the fragmentation of the U.S. imaging market, which it estimates is worth more than $100 billion. Scan.com said 85% of imaging exams are still scheduled by phone or fax, while pricing and scanner utilization can vary significantly between nearby facilities.'Modern healthcare systems need to deliver better outcomes and lower costs,' said Nathalie Bruls, general partner at Noteus. 'We led this round as we see Scan.com uniquely positioned to power that future, having built the network and intelligence layer for diagnostic imaging.'Scan.com operates in both the United States and United Kingdom and describes itself as the U.K.'s largest medical imaging network. The latest investment is intended to accelerate its effort to build a similarly broad infrastructure in the U.S. market.
