I cannot believe that 30 years have elapsed since Expedia was launched from its humble beginnings on Tuesday, October 22, 1996 as an online travel startup within Microsoft led by founder Richard Barton — who also co-founded a real estate marketing company called Zillow — before being spun off into a public company. I personally have benefited from saving money with Expedia in the past when booking reservations at hotel properties — such as at the Cresta President Hotel in Botswana, which I have reviewed my stay.
