The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has approved an increase of Rs1.34 per litre in the dealers' margin on petrol and high-speed diesel, raising the amount from Rs8.64 to Rs9.98 per litre. The decision was taken during an ECC meeting chaired by Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb. The revised margin applies to dealers of both petrol and diesel and is intended to address concerns raised by petroleum dealers regarding the operating costs and financial sustainability of filling stations. Nauman Butt, Vice Chairman of the All Pakistan Petroleum Pumps Owners Association, welcomed the decision and expressed appreciation to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the Petroleum Minister for approving the increase.
