CCSD police release use-of-force data for 2025-2026 school year

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Clark County School District Police Department has released new numbers on when officers used force during the current school year, information now required under Nevada's AB420. The latest report covers the 2025-2026 school year. It shows nine incidents where officers used chemical agents, most of them on school property, and most during school hours or school events. There was also one incident involving an electronic stun device, and no cases reported involving batons. MORE ON FOX5: Henderson police search for missing 76-year-old man The officers involved included a range of rookies with one year on the job to veterans with nearly three decades of experience. The data also tracks who force was used on. Twelve of the people involved were younger than 18. Eight were between 18 and 35, and one person was 35 or older. Thirteen were male and eight were female. By race, 18 of the subjects were listed as Black, two as Hispanic, and one as White. By ethnicity, three were identified as Hispanic and 18 as not Hispanic. District officials are directing families to the full Use of Force Incident Report online, where they can see locations and more detail for each case.
