CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago women's volleyball team looks to stay perfect in 2026 as the Maroons travel to Kenosha, Wisconsin, for a battle between two teams receiving votes in the top-25 poll.* UChicago has opened its season with a perfect 4-0 record after dropping just one set in three matches at the Rosalie Resch Invitational.* Sophomorehas been one of the top players for the Maroons as the outside hitter leads the team with 40 kills and 49 digs. After missing her entire freshman season due to injury, Lewkowitz has recorded three double-doubles in her first four matches.* Freshmanhas been excellent for the Maroons. After not having a single swing in the opening match, Jones talled 12, 10, and 7 kills in three matches at the Rosalie Resch Invitational, hitting a team-high .353 with 29 kills and just 5 errors.* The reigning UAA Rookie of the Year, sophomore, has been putting up big numbers in the 5-1 system. After recording a career-high 47 assists in the opening match, she added 43 assists in the win over Earlham. She has also recorded career-highs with 14 digs and 5 service aces so far this season.* Jones and Maxwell are also leading the team with seven service aces as the Maroons have tallied 37 aces in four matches. Five different Maroons have tallied five aces in the first four matches.* Seniorsandalso join Lewkowitz with averaging at least 10 digs per match in 2026. Cheung has tallied 47 digs, and Marangon has added 40 on the season.* The Maroons are looking to return to the NCAA Tournament after missing out on the postseason for just the second time in eight years.* UChicago brought in a small freshman class in 2025 with just three freshman on the squad. The class includes, an outside from California;, a middle from Massachusetts; and Jones, an outside from Kentucky.* The Maroons also brought in a pair of sophomores to the team includingand. Both student-athletes were on campus at UChicago last season but were not on the team.* Head coachis in his sixth season with the Maroons, compiling an 92-64 record in Hyde Park.* After visiting (RV) Carthage on Tuesday, the Maroons will return to the road this weekend for three games at North Park. UChicago will take on Webster on Friday before battling Wentworth and North Park on Saturday.* Carthage comes into the week with a 2-2 record overall on the season after finishing the weekend 1-2 at their home tournament.* The Firebirds fell to Centre and Wartburg before defeating UW-Stevens Point to end the weekend.* Three of the four matches this season for Carthage have gone to five sets with the Firebirds holding a 2-1 record in those matches.* Kristina Manojlovic leads the attack for the Firebirds with 72 kills and a .223 hitting percentage.* Ava Dettwiler has also been excellent with 145 assists, 13 service aces, and 54 digs.* Hailey Wierzgac leads the Carthage defense with 10 blocks in the middle, and she has added 23 kills on 72 swings.* Following their match against UChicago on Tuesday, the Firebirds will travel to the Southside on Wednesday night to take on the Illinois Tech Scarlet Hawks.* Carthage leads the all-time series against UChicago, 15-10.* The Maroons have won three consecutive meetings against the Firebirds, including a pair of sweeps in both 2024 and 2025.* UChicago holds a 7-2 record against Carthage, dating back to 2016. The Maroons have only dropped 11 total sets in those nine matches.has been excellent against the Firebirds in her career with 17 kills and 16 digs in two matches.also recorded a double-double in the 2025 match with 14 kills and 12 digs.
