We are sad to report that Cody Rhodes' dog, Pharaoh, has passed away on September 7, 2026. Pharaoh has been through it all with Cody Rhodes. The white husky brought him to the ring at AEW All Out 2019. Cody's pyro scared the dog, prompting The American Nightmare to stop bringing Pharoah out in front of the crowd. However, Cody did travel with Pharoah for many years. Sadly, Cody retired Pharoah on SmackDown 2024. The former WWE Champion noted that the pup was getting a little too old to travel. Now, Cody Rhodes' dog has crossed the rainbow bridge, as The American Nightmare pens a heartfelt tribute to his good boy.
Cody Rhodes' Dog Pharaoh Dies: 'You Did Your Job'
It's been a very tough year for fans of pro wrestling dogs. Last year, CM Punk and AJ Lee's beloved Larry crossed over the rainbow bridge. Larry was one of the few dogs to receive merchandise, including action figures.
That other dog? Pharoah. The husky was included with Cody Rhodes' 'Finish the Story' action figures from Mattel.
Randy Orton Uses Pharaoh's Passing in Promo
While we knew Pharaoh was getting older, Cody Rhodes' fans were unaware that his pup was getting ready to trot over the rainbow bridge. Leading up to Sunday Night's Main Event, The Viper insinuated that Cody Rhodes' dog had died. Randy Orton was using hateful words to get Cody to hit him, which would have put their match in jeopardy.
While fans thought that was harsh, RKO took a step back a week later. However, The Legend Killer would double down on his nasty words, as he told Cody that he would bury his dog soon.
Cody Rhodes gives it all for the business, and his dog was a member of it. So, while those who are now mourning the dog's death find the story in bad taste, it's what a Rhodes family member would want.
