SEYMOUR, Indiana — Police in Jackson County are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed Saturday evening. The crash happened shortly after 7 p.m. Sept. 5 in the 1000 block of North Obrien Street in Seymour, just south of East 10th Street. Responding Seymour Police Department officers found 37-year-old Emanuel Nava-Martinez, of Seymour, unresponsive. He was taken to a local hospital and later pronounced dead. The driver of the striking car, a 56-year-old Columbus man, consented to a blood draw and is cooperating with investigators, the department said. No additional details on the crash were immediately available. The crash remains under investigation.
