Dubai Ruler visits Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi

DUBAI/ABU DHABI – His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Monday visited the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi in the Saadiyat Cultural District. During the visit, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed toured the museum's immersive experiences and explored its collections showcasing the history of the universe, Earth and life. The visit also highlighted the UAE's growing focus on museums and cultural institutions as key platforms for preserving heritage and expanding knowledge. Investing in museums His Highness Sheikh Mohammed said investing in museums is an investment in humanity's future, helping foster awareness among future generations and giving them a deeper understanding of the past as they prepare to shape the future. He highlighted the UAE's thriving museum sector and the country's continued support for the development of its cultural sectors. He noted the important role museums play in preserving the nation's heritage, documenting its remarkable journey and achievements, and connecting its story with the wider world. Museums, he added, help preserve the legacy of previous generations while inspiring future generations to build upon it. Immersive journey During the tour, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed was briefed on the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi's immersive experience, which takes visitors through 13.8 billion years of natural history, covering the origins and evolution of the universe, Earth and life. He explored the museum's collections, interactive exhibits and advanced technologies, including rare meteorites and fossils. The experience also features reimagined scenes inspired by Abu Dhabi's natural environment, offering visitors a closer look at the region's landscapes and natural heritage. At the end of the visit, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed joined the museum team for a commemorative photograph. The team expressed their delight and pride at welcoming him to the museum.
