PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Sep, 2026) Two members of a gang wanted in 13 serious criminal cases were killed in an exchange of fire with police in the Bhana Mari area, Capital City Police Peshawar said on Wednesday. The deceased were identified as Shakir, son of Lal Muhammad, resident of Zanday, and Usman, son of Fazal Ghani, resident of Dalazak Road. According to police, the suspects were wanted in cases involving robbery, armed snatching, murder, attempted murder and attacks on police personnel. They were also allegedly involved in the robbery of Rs178 million from a goldsmith at gunpoint on Civil Quarters Road on July 22, 2026. Police said they received information that the suspects were present near Ghazi Baba Larra graveyard along with a bag. A police team reached the spot, following which an exchange of fire took place, resulting in the deaths of both suspects. Police claimed to have recovered Rs.68 million in allegedly stolen cash, a Kalashnikov, a pistol and a motorcycle from the deceased. According to police records, the two suspects were wanted in 13 cases registered at Bhana Mari, Chamkani, Pahari Pura, Sarband and Agha Mir Jani Shah police stations under various sections of the Pakistan Penal Code, Anti-Narcotics Act and Anti-Terrorism Act.
