United Way of Stephens County prepares for Barbecue Weekend at Fuqua Park

DUNCAN, Okla. (KSWO) — The United Way of Stephens County is set to host the 9th annual United Way Barbecue Weekend from Friday, Sept. 11 through Saturday, Sept. 12 at Fuqua Park in Duncan. Beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, the event — formerly known as the BBQ Showdown — will feature live music, food trucks and local vendors. On Saturday, the barbecue championship will take place with six different categories, including brisket, pork ribs, chicken, pork butt, sides and dessert. During the competition, there will also be family fun with Kiddie Land open. The event will also feature local partner agencies showcasing their work throughout the community. Admission to the event is $10 for adults and $5 for children. All money raised from the event will go to help support the United Way of Stephens County partner agencies.
