His age was 57. Fox 54 reports Marshall died of stomach cancer. 'A former professional NFL athlete, Arthur carried strength and determination throughout his life,' Marshall's obituary read, 'but those who knew him best will remember him most for the size of his heart. He was a giver by nature-generous with his time, love, encouragement, and support. He genuinely cared for people and found joy in helping others.' Following his collegiate career at Georgia, Marshall signed with the Denver Broncos and finished with 853 receiving yards and three touchdowns. In December 1992, he tied the NFL record for the longest completion by a non-quarterback by connecting with Cedric Tillman for an 81-yard touchdown against Dallas. Between 1994 and 1996, Marshall played his final three seasons with the Giants after the Broncos traded him. During that time, he collected 414 receiving yards and a touchdown. Marshall also returned kicks for the Giants in addition to being a receiver. 'When he touched the field, you knew he was on the field,' Daniel Dorsey, the current head coach at Marshall's alma mater, Hephzibah High School in Georgia, told Fox 54.
