Carlos Alcaraz continues to impress at the US Open, having just stormed into the quarterfinals.
Alcaraz is the second seed in New York, but he is playing his first tournament since suffering a wrist injury in April.
And the ATP superstar has shown very few signs of rust during his time at the US Open, where he has just overtaken one of Pete Sampras' all-time career records.

According to OptaAce, Alcaraz now boasts an 86.79% winning ratio in hard court Grand Slams in the Open Era.
That is ahead of both Sampras (86.6%) and Jimmy Connors (85.9%), and behind only Novak Djokovic (88.1%) and Roger Federer (86.82%).
It is a sensational achievement by the Spaniard, who has already claimed seven Grand Slam titles at the age of 23.
He's now well on track for another success at the US Open, which the ATP icon won in both 2022 and 2025.

And highlighting his stunning run, only Faria has taken a set off the former world number one at Flushing Meadows so far.
Ben Shelton, the highest-ranked American man left, now represents his next opponent at the quarterfinal stage.
And history is very much on the side of the visitor, with Alcaraz having won all three of his ATP meetings with Shelton.

The latter will, of course, have the home fans on his side for their next clash, which is likely to come on Arthur Ashe Stadium.
Shelton just beat Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets at the same venue, having also knocked out Tallon Griekspoor, Hubert Hurkacz and Denis Shapovalov at this year's event.
While neither player will be looking beyond their meeting, the winner of the match will meet Frances Tiafoe or Alex Michelsen in the semifinals.
