PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Aug, 2026) KP Minister for Health, Khaleeq ur Rehman, chaired a meeting on the Dengue Action Plan 2026 to review ongoing measures for dengue prevention and control, surveillance mechanisms, and the future course of action.
Besides, Secretary Health Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Fayaz Ali Shah, Director General Health Services, Director Dengue Control Programme and District Health Officer Peshawar, other relevant officials of the Health Department also attended the meeting.
The meeting reviewed progress on measures being taken to prevent the possible spread of dengue. Detailed discussions were held on the future action plan, strengthening surveillance, ensuring timely diagnosis and treatment, and enhancing public awareness regarding dengue prevention.
Provincial Minister for Health Khaleeq ur Rehman said that prevention and control of dengue remains one of the government's key priorities.
He stressed the need for effective coordination and a comprehensive strategy among all relevant departments and institutions.
The Provincial Minister directed the concerned authorities to further intensify preventive and protective measures against dengue, identify and eliminate potential breeding sites, and ensure timely diagnosis and treatment of suspected patients.
Khaleeq ur Rehman emphasized that the surveillance system should be further strengthened and public awareness campaigns regarding dengue prevention, precautionary measures, and timely treatment should be expanded.
He directed all concerned authorities to ensure effective implementation of the Dengue Action Plan 2026, strengthen coordination among relevant institutions, and complete all necessary preventive measures in a timely manner to prevent the possible spread of dengue.
