inp.polri.go.id - Depok. The Samapta Bhayangkara Corps of Security Maintenance Agency (Korps Sabhara Baharkam) is strengthening the preparation of personnel, equipment, patrols, search and rescue (SAR) measures, and police services to address the potential impacts of Mount Anak Krakatau's activity, which remains at Level III, or Alert. The Head of the Korps Sabhara Baharkam, Inspector General Nazli, led a Disaster Emergency Response Readiness Roll Call at the Korsabhara Baharkam field on Sunday (9/6/2026). A total of 299 personnel were prepared, along with 10 K9 units, rescue vehicles, forest and land fire vehicles, field kitchens, K9 vehicles, and various SAR equipment. This preparation was intensified specifically to the Directors of Sabhara of the Banten Regional Police, Lampung Regional Police, and Jakarta Refional Metro Police to ensure personnel are ready to provide services to the public. The activity of Mount Anak Krakatau, which remains at Level III, or Alert, has drawn public attention. After experiencing a continuous eruption for approximately 25 hours, volcanic activity is still being monitored, and the potential for further eruptions remains a concern. The spread of volcanic ash has also impacted several areas in Banten and Lampung and affected aviation activities. The preparation is aimed at ensuring the public receives prompt assistance in the event of security disturbances, mobility obstacles, evacuation needs, search and rescue, or other emergencies. Personnel and related elements will strengthen patrols in potentially affected areas, including residential areas, traffic routes, coastal areas, and locations with public access. Patrols are conducted to monitor the situation and provide assistance if anyone in need is found. In addition to patrols, SAR personnel, Animal Rescue, and K9 unit are prepared to be immediately mobilized to support search, evacuation, and rescue. Rescue vehicles, SAR equipment, masks, field kitchens, and other supporting equipment are also being prepared to support services in the field. People who need police assistance can contact the 110 hotline service. This service can be used to submit reports, request assistance, or obtain police services when facing emergency conditions, security disturbances, obstacles in the field, or other situations that require the presence of police personnel. Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, Head of Public Information for the Indonesian National Police (INP)'s Public Relations Division, stated that the preparation carried out by INP's Baharkam is a form of state presence to ensure that the public does not face emergency situations alone. "The public needs assurance that when something happens, there are personnel ready to help. Therefore, we are preparing personnel, vehicles, search and rescue (SAR) equipment, K9, units, and the 110 hotline service so that assistance can be given quickly," said Trunoyudo. (ad/ad/pr/rs)
