Ravens name Jovaughn Gwyn their starting center for Week 1 @ Colts

(Photo by) The Baltimore Ravens have named their starting center for Week 1 at the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. Head coach Jesse Minter named Jovaughn Gwyn the starter center, but quickly added this is for the opener and doesn't mean for the entire season. Center was the only open and unknown competition before their season opener all offseason after the departure of Tyler Linderbaum to Vegas in free agency. The Ravens are waiting on Ethan Pocic to get full ramped up following a season-ending achilles injury last year with Cleveland. Pocic has been participating in training camp and preseason action, but Gwyn has been taking start snaps since Danny Pinter went down with a season-ending knee injury in Minnesota in joint practices with the Vikings. Pocic has the most starter experience, and the Ravens paid the most for him this offseason. Gwyn also came over during free agency after spending his first three seasons in Atlanta.
