Idaho Liberty Bell visits Harwood Elementary School

On a usual Tuesday, the Idaho Liberty Bell sits in Boise at the Idaho State Capital Building. This Tuesday Morning, however, the iconic and newly restored bell found itself sitting in the Harwood Elementary School parking lot, receiving admiration from students and staff alike. This stop is only stop number four of the bell's tour across Idaho in celebration of America 250. Harwood students and staff line up to see and take photos with the Idaho Liberty Bell on Sept. 8. According to Evan Snow, the bell's official traveling companion, the last time it traveled across Idaho was in the 1950's, about 75 years ago. This time, the bell is making the rounds newly restored, with a new yoke and a shiny exterior. 'It's pretty exciting to get to show it off,' Snow stated. The bell will make it's way around South East Idaho, stopping in Rexburg, Arco and Salmon among other cities throughout this tour. Students at Harwood had the opportunity to come out and learn about the bell, take pictures with it, and a few students even had the opportunity to ring it, according to Harwood teachers.
