A new Pew Research Center survey found more Americans said they did not think a woman would be elected president during their lifetime. The survey found 37 percent of Americans said it was not likely, up from 26 percent in 2023. It also found most people said the president's gender did not matter to them. At the same time, Democrats were more likely than Republicans to say it was important to elect a woman president.
