Summerteeth finds Wilco departing Mermaid Avenue in a 1972 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser with Jeff Tweedy at the wheel, Jay Bennett trying to grab the wheel, the rest of the band crammed into the backseat and the way back filled with drugs. For a trip that lasts over an hour, Wilco drop off members, pick up new ones, take detours to replenish the way back while teetering out of control toward Yankee Hotel Foxtrot.
