Nicolas Cage recalls role where he 'really lost it' before ever getting the chance to 'develop my craft' American actor and film producer Nicolas Cage recently had his time on stage at New York Comic Con and conversations got personal. The Golden Globe Award winner spoke about his character in Face/Off during the appearance and was quick to poke fun at himself, for some banter. During some back and forth he went into detail with his character and offered fans a little glimpse into what it took for him to really get into the performance. Cage started by admitting it totally 'lost it' during one of the scenes where his character (Sean Archer) was trapped in prison. Recalling it all he said, 'at one point, during like, 'I'm Castor Troy, I'm Castor Troy.' I got lost. And if you look at the movie, you can see it. I'm like, 'Who am I? Is this real? Am I in trouble? Am I in prison?' And I really lost it. Thankfully, that doesn't happen to me anymore. That was early on in my work. I think I've gotten control of it because I've developed my craft more.' Now for those unversed with the actual movie, IMDB describes its plot as follows, 'To foil a terrorist plot, an FBI agent assumes the identity of the criminal who murdered his son via facial transplant surgery, but the crook wakes up prematurely and vows revenge. Its main cast included John Travolta, Nicolas Cage and Joan Allen.
