Xiaomi Poco M8x Teased for Official Launch This Week; Confirms Design and SoC

Usama Rasool August 19, 2026 The series doesn't end on Poco M8 Power. They are about to debut a Xiaomi Poco M8x soon. And this will be the 5th handset in the growing family. Well, they've started teasing the newcomer with little to no info about the specs. But there is a dedicated page for the Poco M8x where they confirmed the launch date. The phone is coming soon, says the teaser. We went to the newcomer's actual page on one of the foreign retail sites to discover August 21st as its official launch date. The site will list the accurate specs for this phone soon enough, but right now it is mostly the chipset and storage details. It's not the fastest around, but this does unlock 5G support on the Xiaomi latest Poco model. Apparently, the chip can open apps 43% faster. We assume they are comparing it to the Poco M7. Again, the chip is more efficient now, so the endurance and screen time will also get a boost because of it. And the SD 4 Gen 5 actually managed to hit 650K+ points on AnTuTu, so it's a pretty decent performer, all things considered. 12,439 mm2 graphite cooling layer is put on the back, and a 1,924 mm2 copper foil is put directly on the chip to spread the heat. This cooling system must've helped with the AnTuTu scores. They say the phone is rated for 48 months of lag-free experience. The RAM on the M8x is actually 6GB, and they double it via virtual memory. It's LPDDR4X. There's also UFS 2.2 storage on this handset.
