The Post's Girls Athlete of the Week: Vote on the best of Aug. 31- Sept. 4 Welcome to Athlete of the Week voting from The Palm Beach Post! Congrats to our last winner, Natalia Marciante of Boca Raton Christian volleyball. The junior hitter tallied 18 kills with five aces in a close 3-2 match win over Doral Academy. It's time to begin our 2026 voting during the fall season. Each week, The Post will highlight the best boys and girls high school student-athlete performances in Palm Beach County. The polls will be open until noon Friday. Nominees are accepted via email or phone, but will be selected by staff in the absence of submission. Here's a look at the best girls performances from the the most recent week of high school competition: The Post's Girls Athlete of the Week voting (Aug. 31 - Sept. 4) Volleyball: Kimora Murray, Jr., Royal Palm Beach ― Across her first five games, Murray has accumulated 55 kills on 110 attempts with a .355 hitting percentage, 28 digs, 14 service aces, five total blocks, and a 77.5% serving percentage Volleyball: Milla Young, Fr., The Greene School ― Compiled 16 kills and eight assists in a 3-1 match victory over Atlantic Christian Cross country: Sammie Helfant, Sr., Palm Beach Central ― Won the Dr. Garcia Bulldogs Invitational 2026 with a time 19:28 Golf: Sofia Clay, Sr., Park Vista ― Shot a team-low 39 to pace the Cobras in a victory over Wellington Golf: Alyssa Cleckley, Fr., American Heritage-Delray ― In her first varsity tournament, Cleckley shot a field-low 37 to earn first place Alex Peterman is a high school sports reporter for The Palm Beach Post.
