BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - A United Kingdom man has been sentenced to time served after illegally crossing the Canada-Maine border in April. According to court documents, 22-year-old Mohammed Sultan Saleh was sentenced in federal court. Records show he and three other men crossed from Quebec into Somerset County. The group was spotted on Golden Road and they were taken into custody by border patrol. Saleh, along with his friends, told officials that they accidentally crossed the border during a hike. However, documents show those statements were false. All four men later pleaded guilty. The three other men were also sentenced to time served.
