Jouahri, the sole representative from the North Africa region in this ranking, earned an 'A-' grade in the 2026 'Central Banker Report Cards,' an annual evaluation assessing the performance of central bank leaders across nearly 100 countries, territories, and monetary unions worldwide, according to a press release from Global Finance. This ranking places the Governor of Bank Al-Maghrib among an elite group of governors recognized for the quality of their monetary management and their ability to maintain economic and financial stability amid a global environment marked by widespread uncertainties. Published annually since 1994, the Global Finance report cards assign grades ranging from 'A+' to 'F' based on key criteria, including inflation control, economic growth targets, currency stability, interest rate management, and central bank independence.
