[PICS] Another Record Setting Year at Corvettes at Carlisle

Photo Credit: Steve Burns We've just closed the frunk on the 2026 edition of the Corvettes at Carlisle show. And what a show it was. Corvettes at Carlisle just continues to steam along and this year they set yet another Fun Field record with 3,239 Corvettes registered. That surpassed 2023's 3,080 Fun Field Corvettes and made the 2026 Corvettes at Carlisle the 8th largest car-specific event ever held at Carlisle. The sprawling Carlisle fairgrounds were buzzing all weekend thanks to nearly perfect weather and thousands of likeminded enthusiasts coming together to celebrate all things Corvette. There are endless things to do and see at Carlisle every year, but the 1963 #001 and #004 Grand Sports stole the show last week. With the new C8 Corvette Grand Sport all over your newsfeed these days, it seemed only appropriate that two of the originals showed up at the show this year – especially after the $18.7 million sale of GS #003 in Monterey a couple weeks ago. That special display was flanked by an incredible display of 1996 Grand Sports celebrating their 30th anniversary. We didn't catch and exact number of C4 Grand Sports, but it was certainly more than we've ever seen in one place before. To build on all that Grand Sport momentum, Chevrolet's Team Corvette was out in force with an army of folks answering questions inside the bustling GM tent throughout the weekend. They also led two new Grand Sport walkaround sessions on Friday and Saturday. Elsewhere, Carlisle's staple events returned in their usual top form. The NCRS Gallery celebrated 25 years with some of the best cars in the hobby including the last 1953 Corvette, a 1957 airbox fuelie, and even a 1968 L88 convertible among the honorees. The NCCC Concourse returned to its new more convenient location at the base of the hill adjacent to the for sale pavilion as owners showcased the cleanest and shiniest Corvettes you've ever seen. Two long, tented rows of cars made up the 50th anniversary of the 1976 Corvette while the Chip's Choice display in Building T highlighted Corvettes with a special family connection. We always say every Corvette has a story, and the Chip's Choice cars this year certainly had some great ones to share. The Corvette Mechanic, Paul Koerner, hosted several standing room only technical sessions throughout the weekend covering a wide variety of topics on C4 and newer Corvettes and our friend Steve Garrett dished on his popular Corvette Today podcast. Noted Corvette enthusiast Wes Wong, a retired FBI agent, held a special talk on the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. Friday saw the traditional Corvette American flag display on Carlisle's signature big hill. It's always neat to watch the flag come together and then marvel at the final product once it's completed. Then there's the myriad of dealers, vendors, and swappers selling anything minutely Corvette related. From barn find project cars to superchargers, LED lights, PPF, and detailing supplies, if you need something for your Corvette, it's at Carlisle. Or course, we'd be remiss if we didn't mention the autocross. Along with the Rolling Exhaust contest, the track area was a flutter with activity throughout the weekend. The group of onlookers watching the racers was one of the biggest and most engaged crowds we can recall. Carlisle launched two new events this year which we suspect will return. The Mr. Corvette contest embraced that old Corvette stereotype of 'extra crispy' New Balance sneakers, jorts, and more. You know it. You may even be rocking that sweet look while reading this. The fun continued with the Corvette twin competition for owners who best matched their Corvette. An entertaining and lighthearted side of the show for sure. The annual Saturday night downtown parade wrapped up the show. The incredible community event was sold out once again and the slow roll of 500 Corvettes rumbling into historic downtown Carlisle is something you'll never forget. We also love how the local community shows up to see all the Corvettes parked in the streets year after year. There's so much to Corvettes at Carlisle, it's virtually impossible to mention it all here. If you've never been, just go ahead and mark your calendars for August 26th – 28th next year. Make your hotel reservations early as they sell out quickly. Shout out to everyone at Carlisle events for yet another outstanding Corvettes at Carlisle event. The continued evolution of the show has made it the preeminent Corvette-only destination for us enthusiasts. We look forward to seeing what they have in store for us next year! See you there.
