Egypt showcases tourism attractions at El Alamein International Airshow

Egypt's Tourism and Antiquities Ministry is taking part in the second El Alamein International Airshow and Space Exhibition to promote the country's tourism offerings. The event, inaugurated by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi at El Alamein International Airport, runs through September 10. The ministry's pavilion features a miniature model of several halls at the Grand Egyptian Museum, including replicas of artefacts from the collection of ancient Egyptian King Tutankhamun. It also displays other replicas and archaeological pieces highlighting Egypt's ancient civilisation, as well as screens showing promotional films about the country's tourism destinations and attractions. Visitors to the pavilion can also find promotional materials showcasing various Egyptian destinations and receive souvenirs. Tourism and Antiquities Minister Sherif Fathy said the ministry's participation aimed to introduce visitors and participants to Egypt's ancient civilisation and archaeological treasures, while highlighting the diversity of its tourism products under the slogan: 'Egypt… unmatched diversity.' Ahmed Youssef, chief executive of the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Authority, said the ministry sought to use major international events hosted by Egypt as modern tools for promoting the country's tourism industry. He said the participation would help showcase the development and diversity of Egypt's destinations and strengthen its position on the global tourism map. The airshow is organised by Egypt's Defence Ministry and Air Force, with broad participation from major international companies and senior figures from the global aviation, space and defence sectors. The exhibition provides a platform for decision-makers and executives from leading aviation and air transport companies to present the latest technological developments in the sectors. It also offers an opportunity to establish direct contacts with global airlines and discuss increasing scheduled and charter flights to Egyptian tourist destinations, particularly the North Coast and the new city of El Alamein, the ministry said.
