Federal Minister for Health Syed Mustafa Kamal on Wednesday announced that the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026 will be held on September 20, with several changes introduced to the examination system.
According to the health minister, the MDCAT paper will comprise 180 questions. Two separate question papers, each containing 180 questions, have been sent to every province.
He said a question bank comprising 8,000 questions had been established for preparation of the examination.
Syed Mustafa Kamal said the conduct of the MDCAT was the responsibility of provincial governments and medical universities.

He added that 34 examination centres had been established for MDCAT 2026, including an international centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Addressing concerns over paper leaks, the minister said a previous leak had resulted in the cancellation of the examination across the country. He said two separate question papers had therefore been dispatched to each province to minimise the risk of a leak. Tags: mdcatheldseptemberrevisedexam
