Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has accused the government of contempt of court over its handling of PTI founder Imran Khan's hospital transfer and announced that a contempt petition will be filed.
Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad alongside Khan's sisters, Afridi said the Supreme Court order issued by a three-judge bench had not been implemented.
He said the government had failed to follow the Supreme Court's order concerning the transfer and medical treatment of Imran Khan. He alleged that the authorities neither follow the country's laws nor respect court orders, adding that PTI would challenge the matter through legal means.
The KP chief minister announced that a contempt of court petition would be filed over the alleged non-compliance with the Supreme Court's directions.
PTI warns of intensified protest movement
Afridi said the situation had changed following the developments of the previous night and warned that PTI's protest movement would now become more intense.
He recalled that he had previously spoken about bringing two million people onto the streets, but said the target would now be doubled.

PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar also said the party would file a petition the following day, arguing that medical treatment is a fundamental right of Imran Khan.

PTI raises concerns over hospital transfer
Gohar described Khan's transfer to another hospital as unfortunate, saying the party had not expected him to be moved to a different medical facility. He said the party would soon announce its future course of action following consultations.
According to Gohar, Imran Khan's hospital transfer and the events surrounding it were a matter of serious concern for the party.
He said there were indications that someone did not want political problems to be resolved and argued that political disputes should be addressed through political solutions.
'We want political solutions to political problems,' he said, while questioning the possibility of meaningful negotiations under the prevailing circumstances.
He added that such developments did not create an environment conducive to applause or negotiations.
