Independent Report QUETTA , Sept 7: Quetta Metropolitan Corporation Administrator Bashir Ahmed Barrech has directed that construction activities must not be allowed without valid building permits, approved plans and the required documentation, stressing the need for strict compliance with building regulations across the city. Following his directives, Zarghoon Zone Monitoring Supervisor Nihal Din Bugti inspected several under-construction buildings on Mechongi Road, Arif Road and Tail Godam to assess compliance with the applicable building code and regulations. During the inspections, contractors were required to present building permits, approved plans and other documents authorizing the construction work. Construction at sites where the necessary permits or documentation were not available was ordered to be temporarily suspended until the required regulatory formalities were completed. The owners and contractors concerned were directed to obtain the necessary approvals and formal building permits from the Quetta Metropolitan Corporation before restarting construction and to ensure compliance with prescribed regulations. The Metropolitan Corporation also advised building owners, contractors and others involved in construction to secure all required approvals, permits and documentation before starting any project. The corporation said enforcement of the building code was intended to promote safe and structurally sound construction, ensure regulatory compliance and support orderly urban development in Quetta.
