The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has proposed introducing a top-up health package for government employees under the Sehat Card Plus programme. A meeting on the programme was held under the chairmanship of KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi to review measures for making the healthcare scheme more organised, effective and sustainable. The meeting discussed several proposals, including expanding Sehat Card coverage for expensive medical treatments, increasing service rates and introducing a top-up package specifically for government employees. Speaking at the meeting, Chief Minister Sohail Afridi said health and education were among the government's top priorities in line with the vision of PTI founder Imran Khan. He said reforms and modernisation of basic health centres were aimed at providing healthcare facilities to people at their doorstep. Sohail Afridi said providing quality healthcare to the public was the government's ultimate objective and directed authorities to ensure timely decisions on health and education-related matters. The chief minister also instructed officials to take effective measures to prevent misuse of the Sehat Card facility.
