Marvel has revealed cast and May 2028 release date for its upcoming X-Men film at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event

Marvel Studios has revealed the cast and release date for its upcoming X-Men film during the Disney Entertainment Showcase at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe movie will arrive in cinemas on May 5, 2028, with several of its major mutant characters now confirmed.
Kit Connor will play Cyclops, while Inde Navarrette has been cast as Rogue. Christopher Abbott will portray Professor Xavier, with Samara Weaving taking on the role of Emma Frost. Maya Boyd will play Storm, while Sadie Sink has been cast as Jean Grey.
Adam Driver will also appear in the film as Nathaniel Milbury, the character better known as the Marvel supervillain Mr. Sinister.
The X-Men movie will be directed by Jake Schreier, who previously directed 2025's Thunderbolts. Schreier is set to bring the latest Marvel project to the big screen as the franchise's mutants join the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The cast announcement was made on Friday, August 14, during Disney's showcase at D23 in Anaheim, California.
The event brought together announcements covering upcoming films, television series, experiences and products from across Disney's entertainment divisions.
The upcoming X-Men film is scheduled to reach cinemas several years after the D23 announcement, with Marvel yet to reveal further plot details in the information provided.
D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event is Disney's biennial exposition, where the company previews upcoming projects and celebrates its entertainment history.
