Govt decreases diesel price by Rs 2.73, petrol by Rs 1.49 per litre

The government reduced the price of diesel by Rs2.73 to Rs402.24 per litre and petrol by Rs1.49 to Rs387.54 per litre, effective for Wednesday, September 30, 2026. According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division on Tuesday, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) revised the prices under the petroleum pricing mechanism issued by the federal government. The Petroleum Division said the price changes were necessitated by global developments, including changes in Platts rates, premiums and incidentals. The revised prices will remain effective till Wednesday, September 30, 2026. In the previous review on Monday, the government reduced the price of petrol by Rs2.27 per litre to Rs389.03 and high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs3.56 to Rs404.97 per litre.
