‘I'll kill you': Truck driver late to drop-off accused of choking, shooting man at warehouse

ORANGE COUNTY, Florida (WESH) -- Days after being arrested in Georgia, a man charged with attempted second-degree murder with a firearm faced an Orange County judge on Friday. David Crump, 67, is being held without bond in the Orange County Jail. The Orange County Sheriff's Office said in an affidavit that a shooting happened around noon on Aug. 26 near Boice Pond Road. Crump, a truck driver, was allegedly supposed to make a drop-off, but arrived hours late. When he arrived, the victim said he got into an argument with Crump. The affidavit said one witness told detectives: 'he observed two males arguing in the parking lot of the warehouse. One male was holding a firearm. The suspect first punched the victim. The victim then punched him back. At this time, the suspect shot the victim.' Investigators said witnesses provided videos and photos of what happened. In one video, the affidavit said, 'Crump can be heard saying 'I'll kill you' as he placed his hands around the victim's neck.' The victim told investigators he was shot once in the arm. Detectives then said Crump got into his semi-truck and left. The affidavit said Crump called the company he was a third-party contractor for, and the company was 'able to track the vehicle using GPS northbound through Jacksonville into Georgia.' In a statement, the Glynn County Police Department in Georgia confirmed an officer 'observed a vehicle matching information provided in a (be on the lookout) in reference to a shooting suspect from Orlando, Florida.' On Friday, a judge told Crump he would be appointed a public defender. His next hearing is set for the morning of Sept. 10. By Avery Everett
