A woman was allegedly assaulted at an Auckland gym by a man who jumped the security gate. Police confirmed charges had been laid following the family harm incident on Saturday. A witness told the Herald they saw the man allegedly jump the security gate before attacking a woman in the gym. They said she was 'not in a good way'. AdvertisementAdvertise with NZME Hato Hone St John said they were called to Simplicity Fitness in Mt Wellington about 5.45pm. One person was taken to Auckland City Hospital in a serious condition. Police said a 20-year-old man had been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. A City Fitness spokesperson confirmed an incident took place at one of its Auckland clubs. 'The health and safety of members and our staff is of paramount importance to us, and we are offering our full support to those affected.' No further comment would be made while police investigate, the spokesperson said.
