CANFIELD LOOKS BIG WITH WIN OVER BULLDOGS

CANFIELD OH— Canfield left little doubt Saturday, rolling past one of the area's top teams with an emphatic sweep of Lakeview. The Cardinals controlled the match from start to finish, taking the opener 25-16 before turning up the pressure even more in the final two sets. Canfield cruised 25-11 in both to finish off the sweep. Ashtyn Hanousek was a force for the Cardinals, hammering down 22 kills while adding four aces and 13 digs for a double-double. Viv Biro kept the Canfield offense humming with 45 assists, consistently putting the Cardinals' hitters in position to attack. Paige Roberts anchored the back row with 13 digs, while Makayla Brown added three blocks at the net. For Canfield, it was the kind of performance that gets attention — a straight-set win over a Lakeview team that has established itself as one of the area's best. The Cardinals will look to keep it rolling Wednesday when they hit the road to take on Ursuline. Lakeview will return home Wednesday looking to bounce back against Struthers.
