Marvel Studios has released the second trailer for 'Avengers: Doomsday' during Disney's D23 fan convention, offering a fresh look at the highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) team-up movie set to hit theatres on December 18. The two-minute trailer was introduced by Doomsday leads Robert Downey Jr, who plays Doctor Doom; Chris Evans, who returns as Steve Rogers/Captain America and Hayley Atwell, who plays Peggy Carter. The clip opens with Vanessa Kirby's Sue Storm, also known as Invisible Woman, warning a gathered group of heroes about the threat posed by the Latverian villain. 'I knew he was lost,' Storm says. 'But I did not realise that he was broken.' He used to be different. Avengers: Doomsday arrives in theaters everywhere December 18. Chris Hemsworth's Thor follows with a warning of his own. Before Thor can land a blow with his axe Stormbreaker, earlier shown in the movie's first trailer, Doom blocks the strike and hits the Norse god with a beam of green energy. Doom then summons a group of Sentinels, the classic X-Men villains, and responds, 'Hell answers to me, for I am Doom.' Much of the footage mirrors what Marvel Studios showed last month at its Hall H panel during San Diego Comic-Con. The film brings together the Avengers, Fantastic Four, Thunderbolts and several other hero teams to stop Downey's Doctor Doom, marking his return to the MCU after his original character, Tony Stark, died in 'Avengers: Endgame'. Among other Marvel stars returning to the screen are Hemsworth reprising his role as Thor, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Letitia Wright as Black Panther, Sebastian Stan as the Winter Soldier, Tom Hiddleston as Loki and Simu Liu as Shang-Chi. The cast of 'Fantastic Four: First Steps' also returns with Pascal as Mister Fantastic, Kirby as Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Human Torch and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as the Thing. 'Doomsday' also marks the official MCU debut for several actors from Fox's original 'X-Men' films, following Disney's acquisition of the studio. Patrick Stewart returns as Professor Charles Xavier, Ian McKellen as Magneto, James Marsden as Cyclops, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler and Channing Tatum as Gambit.
