​Sword-wielding Insta post lands Hubballi youth in police net

Hubballi : Kasabapet police arrested a man for allegedly posting a photograph and video of himself holding a sword on Instagram , triggering concern among the public. According to a press release issued by the Hubballi-Dharwad Police Commissionerate, the accused, identified as Gangadhar Anand Madivalar, a resident of 4th Cross, Ishwaranagar in Old Hubballi, was seen brandishing a knife in a manner that created fear among citizens. Police said he had also uploaded a video and photograph of the act on his Instagram account, ' the_jeeva_007 '. Based on the incident, police registered a case at Kasabapet police station under Section 27(1) of the Indian Arms Act, 1959, and Section 351(2) read with Section 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. Investigators traced the accused and arrested him. A knife was seized from his possession during the operation.
