Mountain rescue team takes part in full-day training exercise in the Lake District

STRETCHER handling on steep ground was the focus of a full-day training exercise in the Lake District. (Image: PMRT) The team said: "The terrain included the wooded Rigg itself, negotiating the shelf down to the rock field below at various points, both lowering and hauling up the stretcher, and traversing the angled rock and stone fields above the water line. "The exercise, which included rigging up protection for the stretcher on steep or exposed sections, took good advantage of the unusually low level of the lake.
