PESHAWAR
Police on Saturday claimed to have recovered several weapons and detained suspected criminals during a targeted search and strike operation in areas falling within the jurisdiction of Badaber Police Station.
The operation was conducted on the directives of SP Saddar Division Fida Hussain and supervised by DSP Badaber Circle Saeedur Rehman, according to a police statement.
Personnel from Badaber police, Elite Force, Bomb Disposal Unit, Anti-Terrorism Squad, Lady Police and local police took part in house-to-house searches in Malyan, Gujran and adjoining areas.
Police said special action was taken at the hideouts of alleged criminals in Mulyan and Gujran. Proclaimed offenders wanted in attempted murder and other serious cases, as well as their alleged facilitators, were also targeted during the operation.
Several suspected criminals and suspicious persons were detained, while police also checked unregistered tenants.
According to the police, the operation resulted in the recovery of three Kalashnikovs, a rifle, a Kalakof, three pistols, and several magazines and rounds of ammunition.
SP Fida Hussain said targeted operations against proclaimed offenders, alleged facilitators, land grabbers, unregistered tenants and people involved in illegal arms possession would continue to maintain law and order and protect the lives and property of citizens.
