Infrastructure Migration Jumpstart VM Edition delivers a structured, controlled-scope engagement for migrating on-premises virtual machines to Azure, using Azure Migrate as the primary tool for discovery, assessment, and migration. The approach is rehost (lift-and-shift): virtual machines are moved to Azure Virtual Machines without application refactoring, apart from the minimal adjustments required for compatibility. This package is designed for a limited pilot wave, indicatively up to two virtual machines, keeping timelines, risks, and complexity consistent with a standard service. Large-scale migrations, mission-critical applications, refactoring, or architectural redesign are out of scope and require a dedicated project. Microsoft Azure licenses, subscriptions, and any required tools are not included and remain the customer's responsibility. An appliance on the source hypervisor with HTTPS (port 443) access to Azure is required for the discovery, assessment, and migration phases, keeping the on-premises environment isolated from direct Azure access. What the implementation includes Preliminary analysis of sources, dependencies, network constraints, compatibility, and migration prerequisites. Verification of the Azure landing zone migration readiness, focusing on subscription, resource group, networking, naming, identity, and administrative access. Configuration of the Azure Migrate project and its discovery/assessment component. Assessment of candidate VMs, verifying their readiness for Azure. Planning of the pilot wave and cutover plan, including test migration checks, rollback, and post-migration validation. Execution of the pilot migration for a limited number of VMs consistent with the package scope. Final documentation, operational handover, and guidance for extending the approach to future migration waves. Deliverables Verified Azure landing zone migration readiness. Configured Azure Migrate project with discovery and assessment. Completed VM assessment and readiness report. Cutover plan with rollback and validation steps. Migrated pilot VMs, up to the package's scope. Final documentation and operational handover. Customer requirements Active Azure subscription. Source hypervisor environment with an appliance deployable for Azure Migrate, with HTTPS (port 443) access to Azure. Up to two on-premises VMs identified for the pilot wave. Required administrative access on the Azure subscription and source environment. Availability of technical contacts for discovery, planning, and cutover activities. Licenses, tools, certifications, and software beyond what is listed are not included unless otherwise specified. This service does not include large-scale or mass migrations, migration of mission-critical applications, application refactoring or architectural redesign, migration of workloads beyond the agreed pilot scope, or ongoing post-migration operations management.
