The Russian government is implementing an additional set of measures to support the agro-industrial complex during the autumn field work. This was announced on September 8 by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev. The harvesting campaign continues in Russia. Currently, more than 113.5 million tons of grain have been harvested, which is significantly higher than last year. In the coming weeks, winter sowing will gain momentum. At the same time, the volumes of harvested grain must be realized and distributed in a timely manner. The government has adopted a set of measures to preserve the economic stability of farms, Patrushev said at a meeting on measures to support agricultural producers. "Now, taking into account the current situation, it is necessary to additionally support farmers so that the autumn field work can be carried out in our country. First of all, grain-producing regions should not be overstocked. In this regard, the issues of optimizing the logistics of agricultural products are under special government control. Among other things, we have developed a set of special tools that are already being implemented. First, at the end of August, about 10 billion rubles were additionally allocated to subsidize rail transportation of agricultural products from regions with traditionally high harvest volumes. Secondly, a number of decisions have been prepared in the field of customs and tariff regulation. Thus, the payment of export duties on cereals will be suspended until the end of the year, and the maximum amount of duties on vegetable oil and meal will be fixed at the level of August 2026. Additionally, a more expanded set of measures has been developed to assist agricultural producers. In particular, the government is currently determining the amount of "per—hectare" financial support for farmers to partially compensate for the costs of winter sowing," the Deputy Prime Minister said. A number of measures are also being prepared for the financial stability of farms, including the prolongation of preferential loans and leasing agreements, as well as a temporary moratorium on the bankruptcy of farmers while maintaining their status as agricultural producers. Another important tool is government procurement interventions, which are aimed at stabilizing domestic prices and providing farmers with sales channels even in a difficult market situation. All these measures create a reliable support for the industry, help to avoid disruptions in seasonal field work, support household incomes and maintain high rates of agricultural development. Oksana Lut, the head of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, announced on September 4 that the pace of the harvesting campaign in the country was set much higher than last year. According to her, more than 110 million tons of grain have already been harvested (83.5 million tons of wheat), which is 10.5 million tons more than last year. As the head of the department added, harvesting is now underway in all regions of the country. The harvest of oilseeds is actively underway — 3.3 million tons have already been harvested, beetroot, potatoes and open-field vegetables have been harvested.
